A Thank You to St Joseph's Partners
Dear Members of St Joseph's Partners,
God bless you, men of K of C Council 13405 (Our Lady of Mt Carmel) who have been quietly serving Our Lady of Guadalupe Home faithfully for years, just like your patron saint Joseph. Thanks for maintaining our grounds and house, cutting the lawn, removing snow and doing whatever is needed to keep us looking our best. Special thanks to David and Lorne who volunteered (for the third year in a row) to cut the grass. Our curb appeal would be dismal without the contributions of our group of St Joseph's Partners! AND we would never have had our flooding problems solved without you.
Thank you! And May God will reward you and your families for fulfilling the call to be generous Christian men who serve and protect mothers and children.
Sincerely,
Sr Linda Dube

Volunteer Leaders Needed:
Baby Bottle Campaign
Annual Benefit Dinner
Greetings, all!
I’d like to share a crucial need for Our Lady of Guadalupe Home, and to plead with you to help in whatever way you can.
Our Lady of Guadalupe is in dire need of volunteers to manage our two major fundraisers: The Baby Bottle Campaign and our Annual Banquet.
BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN: In 2016 eight Parishes participated in the Baby Bottle Campaign. These 8 campaigns contributed almost $21,000 to Our Lady of Guadalupe Home (approx 10% of our operational cost). This is a very important source of income for us. However, in 2017 only one parish participated in the Baby Bottle Campaign, so it is crucial that we continue to appeal to parishes to participate in the Baby Bottle Campaign once more or for the first time.
Recently Mike and Jeannie Cowan, who ran the Baby Bottle Campaign had to step down. They had been helping with this campaign, and finally assumed leadership when Carolyn Cole had to retire in her illness. They are responsible for keeping the campaign going and making it a success. Thank you, Mike and Jeannie! God will surely bless you 100 fold!
So now we need a volunteer to take over this important campaign for us. If you are willing to serve the Lord by leading this campaign, please contact Guadalupe Home at 519-962-4861 or call me at 519-253-1806.
ANNUAL BENEFIT DINNER: We have been fortunate in that many organizations have held fundraising events to benefit Our Lady of Guadalupe Home: the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Women’s League, the Fogolar Women’s Associations, as well as some Sororities and other smaller organizations.
We have our own event, too: the Annual Benefit Dinner. It is a very big event for Our Lady of Guadalupe Home: prepared and hosted by our very own Fundraising Committee. Our Committee has done 4 of these events to date. Our most recent Benefit Dinner was in September 2016, which raised over $13,000 for Our Lady of Guadalupe Home. Our Annual Benefit Dinner will be late this season, and is expected to take place in the spring of 2018.
This past week Jo-Anne Lesperance, Chair of the Fundraising Committee told me that she has to step down as Chair. Thank you, Jo-Anne for your years of dedicated and beautiful work! The Lord will surely bless you 100 fold.
And so, we also need a volunteer to take on this major event to benefit Our Lady of Guadalupe Home.
Jo-Anne is willing to assist our new Chair for the Spring 2018 event.
If you are willing to serve the Lord by serving as Chair of this event, please contact Guadalupe Home at 519-962-4861 or call me at 519-253-1806.
Please pray before you decide – I’m asking Our Lady of Guadalupe to inspire your generosity. She was once a new mother in dire need with a newborn totally dependent on her, so she has a special spot in her heart for anyone who would serve her Son Jesus by helping other new moms and babies in crisis. I am confident that she will reward you richly for any service you can offer to help us continue in our work with new mothers and babies, and so will her Son. You’ll be helping us to continue serving mothers in crisis and their babies too!
Thank you and may God’s holy will be done in this and all matters!
Thy will be done: nothing more; nothing less. Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us!
